To further boost the development of its economy, the city is focusing its efforts for the development of the Bicol Regional Agro Industrial Center (BRAIC) and a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The construction of Legazpi City International Airport is just right in time for the transformation of Legazpi City into a world-class city with an expected influx of investments and tourism-related developments such as the now on full-swing development "Embarcadero", Misibis Resorts, Estates & Spa, windmills and mini-hydroelectric plants and the Cagraray Waterworld Park in the Sula Channel.
